China’s retail sales decline
The change in the total value of sales came in at 10%, the data was forecasted to show a 10.5% increase. Whereas inflation data surpassed expectations, showing a 0.5% increase.
Britain’s inflation dwindled
After the Bank of England increased the cost of borrowing in early November, core inflation has remained flat at 2.7%. While inflation which includes fluctuations in food and energies came in at 3%, the same as the previous month.
OPEC expects higher oil deficit
OPEC increased forecasts on Monday for oil demand in 2018. The cartel along with some outsider allies have decreased the stockpiles, which has helped to push the market to rebalance and perhaps tilt towards a larger deficit in the new year.
Trump urges lawmakers to add risky health care mandate to tax bill
US President Donald Trump called for a new provision to the tax reform bill: asking for a repeal of an insurance law which requires citizens to have health care coverage or pay a tax to Washington.
Bitcoin rebounds
Bitcoin added $1000 to its value on Monday, after losing one third of its value in four days.
Parliament will have the final say on Brexit deal
Brexit secretary David Davis announced that Parliament will be given the opportunity to debate the final deal between Britain and the European Union. MP’s will then vote on whether to accept or reject the agreement.
